A thorough Investment Process

H2’s investment process is practical and time-efficient.  The team is experienced and multi-disciplined, which gives H2 the power to act quickly without sacrificing its high standards.

Before entering into any shareholding, H2 wants to be sure that the investment targets can be met. Together with management H2 develops a business plan, including contingency scenarios. H2 ensures that the business plan is robust by conducting a thorough analysis of the company’s operational performance, strategic positioning and financial position.

Once the agreement is reached, and before the completion of a transaction, a financial and legal due diligence is done. Throughout the entire process, any information received by H2 about the company and/or its shareholders is treated with the utmost confidentiality.

Creating Value

The value enhancement process begins before the transaction has been completed, with an assessment of the strategic and operational improvements.

H2’s value enhancement approach is highly structured and transparent. In case of a turn-around H2 usually follows a three-phase approach, tailored to every specific situation:
  • Increasing the cash flow through cost reduction and better working capital management
  • Improving the company’s manageability by strengthening the team, improving processes and building sound management systems
  • Leading the company to growth once the fundamentals are in place and the business is running smoothly
In most cases, H2 becomes non-executive board members of the company. If necessary, we also can take executive positions for a limited period. In either case H2 focuses its energy primarily on the change management, turn-around and buy-and-build work.
